Jeff Wold in IAM-Magazine. com has written a post regarding Huawei and its sale of patents ultimately to IV. In his conclusion he suggests a more sinister implication:
“As there are no real transparency requirements in terms of who owns what American IP, it would be quite easy to hide the ultimate ownership of such companies. In theory, they could then be as aggressive as they wished in creating very large portfolios that, in time, could generate large licensing fees and give their ultimate owners the ability to have a significant level of control over all kinds of markets. NPEs as covert weapons in economic wars between nations anyone?”
Anyone buying that?
